DREAM OUT LOUD

The Zillmere State School (2013)

Ten years after the Sweet Freedom team had worked with the kids from Zillmere in adapting the Kev Carmody/Paul Kelly song, From Little Things Big Things Grow, they returned to commemorate the event by taking a song written by another legendary Australian songwriter and giving it the Zillmere treatment.

94 students representing 16 nationalities attend the school and turned the Troy Cassar-Daley song, Dream Out Loud into their own expression of their dreams and hopes. Working with the Sweet Freedom team, lead by Brian Procopis and with an arrange by Jerome Keys the kids have taken the song have taken the song away from its country roots and made it their own.

The recording is accompanied by a wonderful film directed by Peter Crane for Bon.Productions which shows the evolution of this new song while also revisiting the historical first recording a decade before. (some stills from this film shown below)
